St. John of God School caters for pupils aged four to eighteen years of age who have moderate, severe or profound general learning disabilities. We also have classes for students who have ASD with moderate, severe/profound general learning disabilities. Our school strives to prepare each pupil for life to the best of his/her ability.  We recognise that each pupil has individual talents, and this is reflected in our teaching approach. Experiential learning is the main focus of the school curriculum. Learning is fun and enjoyable for each student.

To qualify for appointment candidates must be able to comply with the following:

  • Be fully registered with the Teaching Council under Route 1 (Primary) or Route 2 (Post Primary).
  • An additional qualification of working in Special Education is advantageous.
  • Experience and having a real interest and dedication to working with students with Special Educational Needs to help them achieve their full potential is extremely important and highly desirable.

Appointments will be subject to:

  • Vetting requirements
  • Occupational Health Screening.
  • Evidence of current Teaching Council Registration
